Caregiving
Staff assist residents with all activities of daily living or; ADL'S. They may include but are not limited to; bathing, dressing, haircare, shaving, hygiene, cleaning, mobility, feeding, corrospondence, reading, medication management, appointment management, etc. There are three levels of care at Rebecca's. Level One; this is an individual who can do most ADL'S on their own but may need minor assistance and medication management. Level Two; may require more assistance with things such as bathing and dressing . This person my use a walker or other device to assist with mobility. Level Three; this is a resident who needs total care with all ADL'S and may be confined to a wheel chair or needs total assistance with mobility.
Medication Administration
All staff that administer medications, must pass the 16 hour medication administration course from the Department of Human Services of Pennsylvania. Rebecca's is currently contracted with Thompsons Pharmacy for ordering of all medications. All medications that are ordered by the residents Physican are given as directed and recorded in the Caresuite Medication Management System. The Caresuite System is an important tool to our staff, simply because it reduces the chance of medication errors and costantly communicates with the pharmacy. All medications are securely locked at all times and medication orders can only be changed by an order from the physican.
Meal Preparation
Meals are served at 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM and at 6:00 PM. Two weeks of menus are posted in the dining area and the daily meals are written large on the board so that residents can easliy see. There is an alternative meal also posted in the event that the residents do not wish to have what is being served. There is several vending machines in the building for when residents may want a snack.
Laundry Services
Laundry service is an optional service that is offered. Laundry is done two to three times per week at the home.
